The challenge of building on a 350 m² plot was to prioritize vertical space by stacking a broader base, with the levels progressively narrowing as they ascend, resulting in this 236 m² house. The largest massing is located underground, featuring two large English patios on parallel sides and a skylight that ensures privacy, stable temperatures, and natural light throughout. The house layout is optimized to maximize the sun’s orientation and natural ventilation to ensure comfort and energy efficiency year-round.
An open-plan layout creates a spacious feel, including a double-height space in the kitchen, with large windows that allow natural light to filter through. Built-in storage and seating, along with outdoor balconies, extend the living areas to embrace indoor/outdoor living. The contemporary, minimalist interior design focuses on functionality blending mid-century modern cues with coastal living.
